Office of the Chairman, Aetna
Co-Chairwoman, CT Goes Red 2010-2011
Killing almost one woman per minute, heart disease remains the number one cause of death among women in the United States. To help raise awareness about women and heart disease, Aetna is the corporate sponsor of CT’s 2011 Go Red For Women movement. Aetna and the American Heart Association have partnered to help spread the word about heart health by going red for women. Go Red For Women is a nationwide movement designed to celebrate the energy and power women have to group together and stop heart disease. February marks American Heart Month and Aetna is making it easy for you to show your support. Start by wearing red on February 4, 2011 - National Wear Red Day - and join the thousands of men and women in organizations and cities across America by participating in the Wear Red Day campaign. This simple act will demonstrate your support for the American Heart Association’s research and education efforts in putting an end to heart disease in women. To learn more about Wear Red Day, visit
www.GoRedForWomen.org/WearRedDay. As a leading national provider of health insurance products and related services, we at Aetna recognize the impact heart disease has on our members and employees every day. Throughout CT and across the nation, Aetna sponsors many American Heart initiatives
that motivate individuals to go red – such as, Start! Walking Programs, Go Red Luncheons and Heart Balls, along with Health and Wellness Fairs. Aetna will celebrate Go Red For Women by sponsoring the
6th Annual Go Red For Women Luncheon on March 4th at the Hartford Convention Center. We are inviting individuals to challenge themselves and share the emotional infl uence Go Red For Women has to offer.
Join the movement and learn new ways to truly make a
