grandchildren graces this 110-year-old barn on Don Felmet Road. Louise Felmet Reeves said her grandfather, Dow Felmet, built the barn in 1900. “They used to stack the hay in those days and we would climb up the wall and drop down onto the hay,” said Reeves who remembers playing in the loft as a child. Felmet’s grandfather hand-
cut the logs for this barn from trees on his farm. The barn was used for hay and tobacco storage and for housing cattle and mules. It still houses cattle today. Photo by Catherine Hunter
