Fort Worth Dressage Club News
The Fort Worth Dressage Club (FWDC) will be holding its Annual
Awards Banquet January 22 at Los Vaqueroes on Main Street in Fort Worth. We will be voting in the 2011 Board, holding a Silent Auction, and presenting end of year awards as well as special awards to our members. Special awards include Most Improved Rider, FWDC Horse of the Year, Husband/Significant Other of the Year, In Memoriam, and maybe a few other surprise categories. We will also honor our mem- bers who have shown in Recognized, Schooling Shows, and Horse Trials. Funds from our Silent Auction go to our Scholarship Fund. This fund is available to members who volunteer throughout the year to be used to further their dressage education. A delicious Mexican buffet is planned and we will have a cash bar. This is always a lot of fun and of course, great company! FWDC would like to wish Kendra Menzies-Kent of Caballo
Ranch Sport Horses and her barn best of luck on their move to Welling- ton, Florida. We will miss Kendra and all the volunteer hours and ac- tivities she did for FWDC. FWDC would like to thank Nettie Olsen for being our represen-
tative to the USDF Annual Convention in Florida in December. Net- tie was also awarded the Ruth Arvanette Grant from the USDF to attend the Convention. She attended Board of Governor meetings, ed- ucational programs, and discussion groups. We look forward to hear- ing all the news. Congratulations to Teresa Deeter who received the
Adequan/USDF 2010 All Breeds Adult Amateur Champion Medal for First Level Fresians. She picked up her award at the Annual Conven- tion.
FWDC’s own Barbara Harty received the Region 9 GMO Volun-
teer of the Year! Hat’s off to the Houston Dressage Society who shared the Region
9 Championships with the other clubs in the region. FWDC sent three volunteers to work at the Championships, Barbara Harty, Leslee Cov- ington, and Dyanna Lawson. In return, FWDC was sent a percentage

of the money that was raised from the Silent Auction. This resulted in a check for $719 that will go towards 2011 Dressage activities. Many thank you’s from the members of FWDC. FWDC's membership year started De-
cember 1. Membership forms are on our web- site at
www.fortworthdressage.com. We welcome riders at all levels, on all breeds of horses. We put on schooling shows, recog- nized show, scribing clinic, end of year awards, pool party, low cost clinics, a schol- arship fund, and a video library. Remember, no meetings in December or
January. We will pick up again the 4th Mon- day of every month at 6:30 PM at Szchuan Chinese Restaurant on Bryant Irvin in Febru- ary. Everyone is welcome! w
