Center Yoga, in Naples. Alanna Kaivalya, internationally known as the Jiva Diva, will spread her expertise


with a master class from 6 to 9 p.m., January 21; offer a lecture, chanting, insights and plenty of movements from noon to 5 p.m., January 22; and then focus on the art of physical adjustments from noon to 5 p.m., January 23. Marni Task, who also handmakes her own line of body lotion products, will


lead four sessions: master-level students from 6 to 8 p.m., February 25; backbends and inversions for intermediate-advanced students from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and standing, balance and hip-opening movements for all levels, 2 to 4:30 p.m., February 26; and a mixed-level class from 10 to 11:30 a.m., February 27.

the area’s history at the Everglades National Park ranger station, in Everglades City. Participants will then be ferried to Fakahatchee Island, where a naturalist will point out unusual plants on the path up to the old cemetery.

he New Year will bring the opportunity to plant a free tree in your yard, learn


about farming and support both local farm- ers and in-need youngsters. The Garden at Eden, Naples’ only community-based organic training farm, operated by Eden


Autism Services Florida, will host a free tour from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., January 8. Sponsored by community garden partner Collier Fruit Growers, Inc., 24 fruit trees


will be given away in a free raffle to promote awareness of buying and growing fresh produce locally. Attendees will witness a variety of farming operations, including the production field, training field, community field, worm ranches, plant nursery and the fruit tree nursery. Organic gardening classes have been taught by John Puig, president of the Col-


lier County Fruit Growers Association and a nearly certified organic gardener, at the Garden at Eden since last September. Free community volunteer work at the farm on Thursdays continues in January from 2 to 5 p.m. Students seeking volunteer hours for school coursework and others are encouraged to participate.
