PASSAMEZZO Sat 11th Dec @ 7.30pm
The second of our classical celebrity series, Passamezzo perform English Elizabethan and Jacobean repertoire in costume on authentic instruments.
Christmas Music in Shakespeare’s England follows the festive calendar from Advent to Candlemas, and includes the beautiful
sombre music of fasting and contemplation as well as plenty of Christmas revelry and celebration! The programme includes music by Byrd, Holborne, Campion and Lawes, performed on viols, recorders, violin, lute, gittern and voices. Passamezzo guide the audience through the programme, explaining the pieces and demonstrating their instruments. In the interval you can talk to the performers about their instruments over a glass of mulled wine.
A great alternative if you were unable to get tickets for the Candlelit Arias!

Once upon a time there lived a pretty young girl called Cinderella. She lived with her father, stepmother and stepsisters who didn’t like her at all. She had to work very hard all day and sit by the fire to keep warm at night. Her only friend was her father’s page, Buttons until one day something extra-ordinary happened.
