Solar-powered Trams Green Up Pelican Bay

b e r s a n d g u e s t s o f Pelican Bay in Naples are conserving energy by being trans-
ported around the community in a new solar/electric tram system set up by Sara- sota-based Eco-Trans Alliance and Cruise Car Inc. It’s estimated the sun will power 800,000 rides annually. The community plans to ultimately
utilize 40 vehicles, each equipped with a 460-watt solar charging system that produces 400 kWh of electricity, to re- duce its total carbon footprint by 22,000 pounds of C02
annually.
