New Hybrid Publix Goes Green
A
hybrid Publix Super Market that opened in October at 8833 Tamiami
Trail North, in Naples, blends a tradition- al store plan with the company’s Green- Wise concept, offering shoppers a wider selection of Earth-friendly, all-natural and organic products. In addition to regular Publix product offerings, consumers can also ask for advice on food pairings from staff specialists in cheese, wine, deli and other departments. Publix also closed its 27-year-old
store in the Pavilion Shopping Center across the street, transferring workers to the hybrid store and hiring 60 addi- tional employees, for a total of 200 at the 54,000-square-foot space, about 9,000 square feet larger than traditional Publix stores.

the Village School, created a mural including native marine life, such as coral, manatees, dolphins, fish and a loggerhead sea turtle, that is being used around the loggerhead sea turtle tank and beach display in the new Nature Zone at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, in Naples. “This undersea mural is absolutely
amazing,” says the Conservancy’s En- vironmental Education and Discovery Center Manager, Troy Frensley. “The students really captured the magical es- sence of our undersea environment here in Southwest Florida.”
