Rotary brains at work & play


MARCH 2008


Our Club's International Committee organized a highly successful evening of brain exercise and memory searching to raise funds for the Brazilian Project.


This is a joint project with our twin club of Hermeskeil-Hunsruck involving a Rotary Foundation Matching Grant. The project is based in the town of Lauro de Freitas, Bahia in Brazil and is designed to help children living in dan- ger on the street whose lives are nor- mally characterized by poverty, drug consumption and drug criminality by giving them an opportunity to partici- pate in a selection of youth groups and, for the older young people, a possibility


At our business meeting April 3, 2008 we welcomed Dr Mutel Kerr as a new Lady Member of our Club


After the induction by President Marga- reta our new member explained her enthu- siasm for Rotary albeit, also the novel way that she was recruited, much to the amuse- ment of all present it was explained that the dentists chair was the final culprit!
