11th July 2007 The Rotary Club of Hornchurch & Upminster under the leadership


of Vocational & Youth committee chairman George Larkey and Past President Nor- man Ellenby enjoyed a day out on the Canal with a group of 17 children and 5 staff from Dycorts School in Harold Hill. We used two of the specially adapted narrow boats of the Canal Boat Project.


The journey took us along the river, from the mooring in Harlow,


through several locks which were operated by our skippers, the staff and those children who wanted to

The children and staff were encouraged to have a turn at steering. As is clear to see -a great time was had


by all! The Canal Boat Project is a charity which our Club supported with funds raised at our 2006 Race Night
