hat a very peculiar property market we have at the moment! It is really strange how amid the dire warnings of double dips, more belt tightening, huge cuts in public services, strikes and serious discontent... the property market is, in some places, as busy as ever. Property professionals plough on, developing strategies
for new business and opening branches, confident that the business is there. It is heartening to see and encouraging for others who may be holding back. One report that has surprised me in this issue of PROPERTYdrumis about the new homes

market. From the roadside and in the press, it seemed to me that developers were favouring the direct sell, with their own offices on sites and their own staff; but it seems that there is business out there for agents who make the effort and investment in selling new homes. A significant income stream is there even in hard times and of course, the knock-on bonus being the resales that come from the buyers of new homes. Our feature, ‘Selling New Homes’ is a real eye opener. In the world of lettings, the place to be last month was the NALS and ProPertydrum Lettings Conference – the View From the top.
