REMODELORS COUNCIL NEWS
Planning for a Better 2011 C
an you believe we are in November already? Halloween has come and
gone, and most of us are in the planning stages of putting our 2011 business plans together, trying to implement a business model that will be profitable in the upcoming years.
Out of all of my jobs and hats that I wear, the business plan has to be my least favorite. On the other hand, it is probably one of the most important single items in any business. Business planning is about results; we need to make its content match our purpose.
Unfortunately, many seasoned remodelers, small and large, think of business plans only for starting a new business or applying for business loans. But they are also vital for running a business, whether or not the business needs new loans or new investments. Businesses need plans to optimize growth and development according to priorities.

The good news is, there’s a lot of help out there, even if you have no idea what a business plan is or how the go about putting one together. You will find a deluge of information on the Web, including very simple software to help you navigate to a more profitable company.
For example, read more at http:// a r t i c les .bpl ans . com/wr i t ing- a - business-plan/what-is-a-business- plan/33#ixzz123cFmhcg.
The GHBA Remodelors Council (RMC) is really not much different than any other business as far as planning and executing is concerned. RMC board members are already engaged in planning for the 2011 season, and Rob Hellyer, RMC’s incoming president, is hard at work solidifying his board, budgets and sponsors.
We’re fortunate that our Remodelors Council events are very popular and well-attended. Commitments for annual sponsors are already being received from both remodelers and associates, requests for luncheon sponsorships are rolling in, and there’s already a waiting list of folks who have asked to host a RMC networking event.
The new GHBA 2011 Marketing Guide has all the details on how you can promote your business at RMC events, from fun events like the Sand Castle Building Competition in the summer, to our Vendor Showcase at the St. Arnolds Brewing Co., you will find an opportunity to promote your business and have some fun at the same time. I hope you’ll join us in making 2011 our most successful year to date and we look forward to seeing you at a RMC event.
