CUSTOM BUILDERS COUNCILNEWS
The Most Fun You'll Have at Work all Year... Products, Prizes, Ponies!
Don't miss the Product Expo, November 18 at Sam Houston Race Park. Browse our associate exhibitors and nosh on free "gourmet grub" and creative cocktails from 1 pm to 7 pm, followed by simulcast horse and greyhound racing. Betting windows will be open in the pavilion, and the bar is open until racing ends at 11 pm!
This Custom Builders Council event is presented by Sherwin-Williams Paint Co. Be sure to take part in the wildly exciting games, played every hour for cash and prizes. Spend five minutes with artist Bonnie Blue, “The Rock Lady,” at the Sherwin-Williams booth #19 and walk away with a free caricature. Or try your hand at the “Money Ball” Horseracing Game; just drop your business card into the fish bowl at Builders Post-Tension’s booth #85 for a chance to reach into the $2,000 Money Ball. Ferguson Enterprises and By Design Interiors (booth #63) will host Charity Pool Games. See if you can beat the “Black Widow” to raise money for HomeAid Houston.
The expo is free for builders, remodelers and developers to attend. Attendance includes food and bar tickets. We need a headcount to ensure adequate munchies, so please register at
www.GHBA.org on the calendar of events page.

SECO Director Dub Taylor Featured Keynote Speaker
The director of the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO), Dub Taylor, will share with us valuable knowledge relating to SECO’s recent statewide code adoption activity and any updates on the Energy Star program. This is a rare opportunity, as Taylor will highlight vital information important to the building industry in Texas. Under Taylor's direction, SECO helps the state make the most of domestic energy, reduce state and local government energy costs and promote cost-effective clean energy technologies. Operated by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, SECO's mission is to maximize energy efficiency while protecting the environment. This seminar will be held prior to the Expo, at the pavilion from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. Please arrive early to ensure adequate seating.
