FUN continued from 20
June is the big Homecoming at the Annual Birthday Party. This three- day event attracts owners from across North America to Silver Lake, Ontario. The off-road events practice the “tread lightly” rule. The courses respect the envi-
ronment and have a low impact ef- fect on it. They range from “green laneing”, a British term that refers to gravel road courses, to heavy, steep courses that get you into the mud, over rocks -- and test your driving ability to the max. The club offers driver-learning support so you can ease yourself into this wonderful world in a safe, enjoyable manner.
In keeping with their philoso-
phy of “enjoy, not harm” nature, this group took part in the clean- up of Marlboro Forest. It doesn’t stop there. The Cedar Hill Classic takes place in Pakenham on a private piece of land with money being raised for thera- peutic riding for kids. Drop David a line at
ovlr.treasurer@
yahoo.ca. He would love to add your name to the club’s growing list of enthusiasts. The OVLR holds meetings the third Mon- day of the month at the Prescott Hotel at 7 p.m. (How can you not love this club?) Until next time, keep smiling … and see you in my rear view mirror.
