Company offers solutions for mortgage woes

ing on those in financial turmoil as much as the banks. Randy Kelton’s philosophy is
simple: Read the law. “A lot of people are offering
magic bullets. I’ve never been into magic bullets. I’m into the law,” he said. Kelton is the owner of Remedies in Real Estate, and Weaverville
resident Dixie Barkdoll is a local agent for the company. Kelton said he uses acts such as
the Real Estate Settlement Proce- dures and the Truth in Lending Act to help craft documents to stop foreclosure from the banks and uncover any potential preda- tory lending acts from banks. “Now that we know what banks
are all about, we can go after them,” Barkdoll said. Te company’s Web site has a
form people can fill out with their particular information and craft a lawsuit document to stave off their property from being sold on the
courthouse steps. Remedies in Real Estate is not
intended to replace legal counsel, only to give those facing fore- closure time to solicit advice, al- though the company does provide mediation services. “It is my intention to keep as
many people in their houses as possible. I want to stop every sin- gle foreclosure I can,” Kelton, who hosts a radio program called “Rule of Law Radio.” Te costs of Remedies in Real
