United Rentals Adds Value for Customers through TCGi Lease Services
UNITED RENTALS has always maintained that its success is a col-
laborative effort of thousands of employees, more than 500 branches, and a supply chain that shares the company’s intense focus on customer ser- vice. The Supplier Diversity Program is an integral part of the procure- ment process, giving qualifying companies an equal opportunity to pur- sue supplier agreements. United Rentals suppliers are diverse not just by definition, but also by
the services they provide: ranging from equipment signage to travel ser- vices to information technology. One recent agreement involves Technol- ogy Concepts Group International (TCGi), which provides asset leasing and lifecycle management services to United Rentals customers. Founded in 1996 by CEO Avis Yates Rivers, TCGi is a strategic pro-
vider to numerous corporations and government agencies and, like United Rentals, places a priority on customer expectations. As Rivers explained, “We know from experience that customers are concerned with more than just getting a good lease rate. Once the investment in equipment is made, the customer also wants to know how to manage that equipment to derive the best possible return.” Jamie Crump, director of indirect strategic sourcing and supplier di-
versity for United Rentals, said that the decision to use TCGi came after a thorough review of their capabilities: “We liked their acquire-to-retire approach to leasing and their organizational strength. TCGi is large enough to handle our volume and nimble enough to react quickly to add- ons and upgrades.” To learn more about TCGi, visit www.technologycon-

versity-owned businesses. Potential suppliers are encouraged to learn more about the company’s Supplier Diversity Program by visiting the on- line information page at:
