Robin Klaus Named Club One’s New CEO


> Club One, Inc., the San Francisco-based club chain, has announced that Robin Klaus, its current chairman and former CEO, will once more assume the roles of chairman and CEO, replacing Jim Mizes, who is leaving the company. Klaus, a 20-year- plus industry veteran, has been charged with managing the firm’s long-term growth. In the past, he’s also served as the chairman of Planet Fit- ness, a club company based in Singapore, and as the COO of Star Trac, the fitness equip- ment manufacturer. —|


Elite Fitness for Women Names Debbie DeSandre Marketing Director


> Elite Fitness for Women, a club company that specializes in women’s weight loss, has named Debbie DeSandre its new marketing director. DeSandre will manage the company’s marketing and member-growth departments, and be responsible for new and ongoing training to ensure that Elite Fitness’ staff has all it needs to serve club mem- bers effectively. “We couldn’t be happier that Debbie has joined our team,” notes Martha Barbaria, the company’s general manager. —|
