For RV travelers, near by Dockweiler State Beach is RVing as close as you can get to the sand, it’s freeway, bus and Metrolink close and a great place to say when visiting the Los Angeles area. The campground sits besides LA’s famous bike path, which takes cyclist from as far south as San Diego all the way north along the coast to Malibu, through Santa Monica. Bike rentals are available throughout the area with an easy ride to nearby Santa Monica from Dockweiler. The waterfront view and ocean sunsets at Dockweiler State Beach make this an idea location. There are 82 full hookups sites and 35 spaces without. The campground also offers showers, rest rooms and laundry facilities as well as picnic tables

and grills at each space. Pets on a leash are also welcomed at this campground. Another great Los Angeles area RV resort is just a few miles north, the Malibu Beach RV Park.
Often visitors to Southern California take a break from the beach and head a short distance inland to the amazing mountains less than an hour drive away. Angeles Crest Scenic Byway is 64-mile route from the city through the desert foothills and into the mountains. Angeles Crest Scenic Byway’s motto is “urban places to mountain spaces.” This byway, also a designated state scenic route, gets you out of the metropolitan area and up into the mountains above Los Angeles. The two-lane highway is paved, with frequent scenic turnouts and places to park for hiking, camping, and picnicking.
