ista Fashion Show, at Bravo! Cucina Restaurant, in The Mercato. Organized by local environmental activist Eileen Arsenault, 16 of Naples’ most highly visible female trendsetters will strut and bedazzle onlookers with coordinated fashions that feature reused and repur- posed pieces discovered in local resale and thrift shops.
“Not only will this be a really fun event, it will give long-time residents Grace Barr, Karen Beatty, Ellin Goetz, Dolly Roberts, Karen Van Arsdale, Marijane Lobaugh, Natalie Fisher, Joie Wilson, Erika Hinson, Suzanne Saltsman, Amanda Jane Kapp, Sharon Bruckman and others an opportunity to invite their friends and introduce them to a ‘reduce and reuse’ trend that can make a difference everywhere on our planet,” says Arsenault.
At the event’s closing ceremony, Shenandoah Webb will sing a Telluride Troubadour Award-winning song by Mitch Barrett, A Drop in the Bucket, that is meant to inspire environmental activism.
Barrett wrote: “We’re a drop in a bucket, and a bucket in the pond. And the pond fills the river, and the river rushes on. Oh, the river swells the river, ’til the power can’t be stopped. What becomes a mighty ocean, started as a drop.”
Says Ziff-Levine, “Our whole Eco- Extravaganza team, as well as The Mer- cato, our sponsors and supporters, have very high hopes for filling up the bucket with hundreds of drops on 10/10/10.”
