has published her Annual Report. The Commissioner says, “All three Services have made serious efforts to reduce their backlog of complaints and there is evidence that personnel are more confident in speaking out against bullying, harassment and other improper treatment. We are all aware of the challenges faced by those who serve and the demands placed on them. Where problems arise they must be sorted out quickly”.

or spouses and civil partners who accompany Service personnel on
overseas assignments sometimes it is not possible to work, creating a gap in the individual’s National Insurance record. To counter this disadvantage there is an entitlement to claim NI credits at the end of the tour.

ntil now, children of Foreign and Commonwealth citizens born during an accompanied
posting outside the UK were unable to apply for British citizenship, while those born in the UK would become British citizens. The UK Border Agency made a commitment in the Service Personnel Command Paper to remove the difference. Also the Armed Forces Exempt UK Immigration Control Stamp has changed.

and future will be held on Saturday 26 Jun 10. Cardiff has been chosen to host the 2010 national event, which will be complemented by over 100 community-led events in towns and cities across the UK.

he Royal British Legion offer Poppy Adventure Breaks during the school holidays taking groups
of 12-17 year olds away for seven nights. If you can say ‘yes’ to just one of the eligibility criteria your child qualifies. A one parent household? A parent on ops? A parent disabled? No holiday in 3 years? Household income less than £25,000? The RBL also offer Family Holiday breaks.
