Our Volunteers

Our teams include local and international volunteers from a wide range of ages and diff erent backgrounds. They are managed by a Conservation Volunteers team leader who is qualifi ed to ensure the safety and welfare of our volunteers. Normally in groups of between 6 and 10 people, our teams often travel together from one of our many offi ces meaning they are capable of undertaking projects in virtually any location.

Projects vary in duration depending on the location and the task at hand, meaning teams may participate for one day, a weekend, a whole week, or longer. As volunteers are contributing their time and eff ort, there is no charge to participate on day projects; however a nominal cost is required towards food, accommodation and transport on projects that involve an overnight stay.

Volunteers don’t require any previous training or special skills as training is provided by the team leaders, but a good level of general fi tness is required on most projects. Conservation Volunteers provides transport from the departure point to the project, all required tools and equipment, First Aid equipment and required insurance coverage. Volunteers will be advised of any additional requirements prior to registering on their chosen project.
