Training & Capacity Building


Conservation Volunteers conducts training to support the many programs and initiatives we run in partnership with organisations and governments. The training, which can be nationally accredited or non-accredited, is focussed in three key areas:


1. Conservation and Land Management 2. Community Capacity Building 3. Safety and Risk Management


We also have extensive experience in working with the not-for-profi t volunteer sector in providing training services. This training assists organisations to conduct activities with appropriate safety management and build capabilities in management and leadership eg. volunteer recruitment and retention, project management, team development and change management.


In Safe Hands Toolkit


In Safe Hands is a safety management system designed for community groups involved in practical conservation. It covers the following important subjects;


• Occupational Health and Safety policy • Safety Management and Guidance notes • Risk assessment information and format • Induction for volunteers


• Set of pro-forma documents to address all aspects at the worksite


The In Safe Hands toolkit comes with a DVD training package. Training workshops are also off ered in the eff ective use of the toolkit. For more information, visit our website.
