Effective from July 1, the move reflects the success that the brand says has made it the largest producer of compost into the UK retail market and manufacturer of the largest range of peat- free growing media in the UK. Vital Earth now has a range of over 30 peat-free composts, including specialist blends like ericaceous and JI Nos 1, 2, and 3 equivalents, making it a one-stop-shop for 100 per cent natural, 100 per cent sustainable and 100 per cent UK-sourced green growing media. It also makes the award-winning Chicken Poo fertilizer, a recycled chicken manure product, sourced from British free-range hens, as well as a range of commercial peat-free composts for the grower and green roof markets. CHEP wins contract W


illiam Sinclair Horticulture Ltd has awarded CHEP a three-year contract worth


approximately £800,000 a year. CHEP describes itself as “the global leader in the pallet and container pooling” and has been working with William Sinclair for over 15 years with a rolling annual contract. This is the first time that a three-year deal has been agreed. From its distribution depots in Lincoln and Carlisle, William Sinclair uses CHEP pallets to deliver to over 3,000 customers including national accounts such as The Garden Centre Group, Wilkinson, Focus and B&Q, as well as an extensive range of independent garden centres. William Sinclair brands include J Arthur Bower's (pictured), Silvaperl and New Horizon.

mart Solar came out on top at this year’s GIMA Awards; with one winner and two finalists it was their best ever performance. Smart Solar’s Utility Light was awarded the winner of the Equipment and Sundries category.
