Sixth Annual GreenNC Commercial Building Trade Show Returns to McKimmon Center Sept. 9

Brought to you by the North Carolina Solar Center and the NC Triangle Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) with support from the North Carolina State Energy Office

he GreenNC Tradeshow is back at NC State University’s McKimmon Center for the 6th annual event. GreenNC leads

the way for the expansion of green building in the Southeast and the tradeshow has had great success in its first five years. This year the show will fill the entire McKimmon Center with exhibits and educational sessions, including nearly 100 exhibitors from across North Carolina and will highlight both commercial and residential communities with separate exhibit areas, and at- tendees will have access to all exhibitors. More than half of the booth spaces are reserved for the green commercial building industry, which even during these slow economic times has been experiencing increasing interest and demand. GreenNC exhibitors range from manufacturers of daylighting equipment and recycled flooring products to green consultants, architects and engineers. The Tradeshow is free to the public from 9am to 5pm. This year’s keynote speaker is

Bill Reed, AIA, LEED AP. An inter- nationally recognized proponent and practitioner in sustainability and regeneration, he is a princi- pal in three firms, the Integrative Design Collaboration, Regenesis, Inc. and Delving Deeper, a green building consulting, living system design, and education organization working to lift building and community planning into full integration and co-evolution with living systems. His work centers on creating the framework for and managing an integrative, whole-system design process. Mr. Reed will speak during the luncheon to be held from 12-1:30pm. The luncheon is also open to the public; however there is a registration fee and only a limited number of seats are available.
