CLASS NOTES
Erin Hoffman ’03 I got married in
Marshall Hoffman ’01 with sister Erin Hoffman ’03
Marshall Hoffman ’01 Hello, everyone! I hope this note
finds everyone doing well. This May, I graduated from the medical school at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland. Graduation was exciting, and I was lucky to have my wife, Ashley, my sister, Erin ’03, and my parents celebrate with me. As a Navy physician, I will begin my training as an internal medicine intern at the National Naval Medical Center. After completion of the internship, I hope to spend a few years as a Navy flight surgeon.
Juhye Lena Kim ’02 I’m graduating from Drexel University
College of Medicine in May, and I will start working as a pediatric intern at Albert Einstein Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, New York. It has been a great past couple of months because the last few months in medical school finally gave me some room to breathe! I was in Bolivia for a month and just came back from a trip to Italy. I’m hoping to do the Lord’s work and go on long-term medical missions abroad in the future. Hope all is well with you and the community of OES!
July 2009 and now I am Erin Mckalip! My husband and I are living downtown in the Indigo, next to Powell’s and Henry’s, which is a lot of fun. As for work, I am a licensed CPA, working at Planar Systems, a company that makes LCD screens and computer monitors. There I am responsible for all investor reports. So all in all, things are going well! Can’t believe it’s been
almost seven years since OES! 2003 reunion some time soon?
Lauren Westlund ’03 Hi everybody! I’m now working
at Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital as a certified veterinary technician (CVT), in Clackamas. I am living in Southeast Portland, in Westmoreland. If anybody is looking for a great vet, and live in the Portland area, come on in to Sunnyside and see me! Hope all is well.
Lincoln Thomas ’05 I’m going be entering into the MAT
cohort at University of Portland in June, middle and high school math.
Jennifer Wolochow ’06 Jennifer is
graduating this June from Stanford University in California with a B.A. in philosophy and religious studies and a minor in Jewish studies. She plans to stay at Stanford for one more year to complete
her master’s in religious studies before she enters the daunting job market!
36 OES MAGAZINE SUMMER 2010 36 Emma Paul ’07 in Spain
Andrew Reinders ’07 I was admitted a few days ago to the
University of Rochester’s computer science PhD program.
Aja Nearing ’09 I have been working on expanding
my title of “senior sports photographer,” selling prints to Emerson College athletes and their parents. It’s an income, and it’s something I love doing!
Brianna Bowman ’06 I’m working at Taylor Shellfish Farms
near Olympia, Washington, this summer. I am also interning for NOAA in the Alaska Fisheries Science Center and going on a research cruise on the Bering Sea in August. We will be looking at spatial distribution of walleye pollock, and also anadromous fish distribution (salmon). The plan after that is to then go on a work holiday to New Zealand!
Emma Paul ’07 Emma is studying abroad on the island
of Mallorca, Spain. I am sending you a cool picture of me in Mallorca in a place called Valldemosa!
