CLASS NOTES
keep up with our three grandchildren, now ranging from 9 to 15 years of age. Even though we live in LA, we keep tabs on Portland and visit regularly. I enjoy reading OES news and hearing what other alums are doing.
Brett Erensel ’74 Still in Manhattan with
Portales Partners, navigating the terrors of Wall Street. Nina and I are at home with 13-year-old Esme, who will be attending Poly Prop Country Day in the ninth grade. Our dog Trixy treats me with some respect, and the boys call home when they need money or a new cell phone. Pearce will be a sophomore at Dickinson College, and Hunter will be a junior at the Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
Christian Seaborn ’75 After a rough fall and winter (my web
design business having fallen off due to the recession), I just recently made a move to the small city of Yerington, Nevada. Yerington is an inviting change from the big city life of Los Angeles where I had been for the last 10 years. One of the positives about being a designer of web sites, my clients are located everywhere, and thanks to the Internet I do not necessarily have to be in the same city as they are in order to do the work. (While in LA I was designing sites for clients as far away as New York City and London, England.) It is always nice to hear from OES friends. I may be reached via email at seaborn.

Kate (Marble) McCarthy ’87 I’m blogging (thehooligansmother.
blogspot.com) and doing the soccer mom thing—minivan, big hairy dog, etc.—in Eugene. My kids are Calvin, 10, and Desmond, 7. It’s great to be reconnected with so many OESians on Facebook.
Angeles—for which I daily reference and draw upon my experiences at OES. This June I begin the low- residency MFA program in creative writing at Bennington College (while continuing to contemplate the possibility of a master’s degree in literature).
Kathleen (Dehen) Martin ’89 Our younger daughter, Victoria,
Kathleen (Dehen) Martin ’89 says her daughters Victoria, left, and Eleanor are best buddies.
Sarah (Wysham) Rose ’77 Sarah (Wysham) Rose is a realtor
with Windermere/CCRGI, and lives in West Linn with her husband, Charlie Rose. Their daughter Ashley will be receiving her master’s degree in June as a speech pathologist from the University of Washington, son Bradley is in the civil engineering program at Oregon State University, and son Taylor is a junior at West Linn High School, often competing against OES in lacrosse! Sarah would love to hear from OES friends near and far! You can contact her at

Chrissy Kirkmire Mazzola ’86 Chrissy and her husband, Rich
Mazzola, are teachers and administrators at the Thacher School in Ojai, California, where they have been for 19 years. They have two children, Madeleine, 13, and JJ, 9. They also have two bad dogs named after Boston Red Sox players. Chrissy would love to be in touch with friends and classmates via facebook.

turned 3 years old in April, and her older sister, Eleanor, turned 5 in December. They are the best of buddies, and John and I have so much fun watching them grow and learn. We had a great time this winter with the whole family skiing together. We continue to divide our free time
between Portland and Hood River while working and going to school in Portland. Kathleen continues to travel all over the Northwest working for Charter Communications.

Charles M. Robbins ’90 It’s my fifth season of drag racing.
I won 2008 American Pro Street (no wheelie bars) and runner-up in ET (Elapsed Time) at the RMC race at Pacific Raceway in Auburn, Washington. Only ran once last year as my motor was being rebuilt to go faster. Ran an 11.8-second pass so far this year. Hoping to get down in the 10-second class soon. Hope to see anyone in Portland area at the AHDRA race August 28-29 Screamin’ Eagle Northwest Nitro Nationals at the Woodburn Dragstrip. Sunday is the best day to go.
