Weaverville Ministry reaches Honduras Carpenter’s Heart, a non-denom-

inational Christ-Center non-profit ministry based in Weaverville, completed a two-year project in December of building a church in San Francisco, Honduras. Barnardsville native Doug Gar-

rison is the ministry’s president and organized a group of five other individuals to build the church for a congregation of more than 60 in Honduras as well as perform out- reach programs in the nearby vil- lages of Yojah, Las Marias, Kreeka

and Garoba. Carpenter’s Heart came together

in Latin America, but the ministry established its presence in April 2009 in North Buncombe. Locally, the group has been able

to fulfill simple needs such as cut- ting wood, building wheelchair ramps, and this Christmas, Car- penter’s Heart delivered presents to a wing in the Brian Center. Tere are seven members on the

ministry’s board of directors who work with the president.

Anyone interested in helping

with projects or may be in need of assistance can contact the ministry via email at thecarpentersheart@ yahoo.com or go to Carpenters- heart.org.
