Bitter Cold Visits the St. Lucie County Fair The week before opening

St. Lucie Fair Trustee , Robbi Giaconne and her grandson— ‖the cold can‘t stop us‖!

was beautiful, a little on the cool side but nice. The first night we opened it was 38 de- grees. Saturday it rained until 4:30 and the temp was 32!! Charlie Daniels brought the crowds out and we estimated around 4,000 enjoyed a great concert. The rest of the week the temperature in the evenings

was barely over 40 but fun was had by all. On the center stage crowds danced to the tunes of Mile Marker 24 and Yesterdayz. On the grounds were the always popular Marcan White Tigers, The Racing Ducks, and Show Me Safari Petting Zoo and Racing Pigs. The Balloonitics, Mike

and his Trike, Pickles da Clown and the ever popular Lloyd Maybry had the crowds in stitches. Power- house Dancers had it rockin‘ on stage and the Demo derby had a full house for both shows. The PRCA

rodeo rounded out the 10 days. Gate attendance was off less than 1% and the midway

gross was down 14%, not bad considering we were down 72% after the first weekend. We were lucky to have such

a strong advanced sale. Advance ticket sales were up 22%. All in all we had a great time and we are looking forward

to 2011!!!

Maybe this crew can keep the sale price up!

And they say these cars will race again next year!!!

Citrus County Fair News The 2010 Citrus County Fair was a success. We had

great weather all week. The community supported our livestock programs and we

had two very good sale nights. We are truly blessed to have the business community‘s support to help all the youth have a positive end to their projects. We had lots of fun entertainment all week. Karaoke Night

and Gospel Night were enjoyed by all. The grounds acts; the Caboodlestoppers, Brad Bodary- The Human Man- nequin, Pro Bots ― Oscar the Robot‖ Old Tyme Music did a superb job. The exhibit displays were beautiful in fine arts, horticulture

and competitive exhibits. The commercial exhibits from our community were the best ever. The 2010 Fair ―Thrills, Squeals & Ferris Wheels‖ is

over, but we are now planning for 2011. We en- joyed the Florida Federation of Fairs Convention and learned a lot and saw some great entertain- ment. The 2011 Truck & Tractor Pull will be Janu- ary 28, 29 & 30th. The 2011 Citrus County Fair is March 28th – April 2nd. Mark your calendars and come see us.
