GET YOUR SKATES ON

The new skatepark in Eaton in Norwich is finally here. After seven years of work by the city council and the Skatepark committee, we have a national standard park. As a skateboarder and member of the committee, Sam Avery of The Drugstore skate shop is understandably stoked about its opening: “I am very excited to be able to actually go skateboarding in my own city. This park has helped bring Norwich up to date with the rest of the country and will encourage development of skateboarding and BMX riding in the area, as well as bringing in participants from outside of the region”, he says. “The park has been designed by Freestyle Skateparks with input from the committee, and the result is one of the best I have ridden in the country.” Congratulations and a big thankyou to everyone involved in getting this skatepark built. MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE

It seems charity begins at the pub when it comes to The Boundary and its regular fundraisers. They’ve been instrumental in raising funds for deserving charities, and August will be no different as they put on an all-dayer on Sunday 1st August in aid of the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Starlight grants wishes to seriously and terminally ill children and entertains sick children in hospitals and hospices UK-wide. They’re a non-profit organisation who rely on us to help raise funds, so do your bit and get down to the Boundary where there’s a full line-up of entertainment from 12pm – 12 midnight of karaoke / disco, a BBQ, street dancers, a bouncy castle, kids’ entertainer, raffle and an unrivalled atmosphere! Go to www.starlightkaraoke.com for more information or call The Boundary on 01603 250859

A NEW START

How many of us have watched Dragon’s Den with the feeling that we could be standing in their shoes? We’ve screamed at the telly when Apprentice is on and daydreamed over just what we’d do with Duncan Bannatyne’s money, but to start at the very beginning is an opportunity that’s open to all of us. If you’ve ever thought about starting your own business, or perhaps find yourself out of work at the moment, then there are certain resources available for FREE that you should make use of. As well as all the areas the library is known for, there’s also Joining the library couldn’t be easier - and most of the services are free. With career guides, study books and information on how to start your own business, your library could be the first step on a new career path for you.
