From the President...
Thank You! John Baker, President, AMEA
I don't know about you, but I don't say "Thank You" as much as I should. To my wife for putting up with me or my children for being helpful around the house or my friends for just being my friend. I have so much to be thankful for in my home, school and community but I am delinquent in the "Thank you" department. This article is my attempt to get in the black where thank you's are concerned.
As I am writng this article Becky Rodgers is on a fishing trip somewhere in the great state of North Dakota. I can't think of a person more deserving of a fishing trip. I had not met Becky until my first AMEA board meeting two years ago. Since that time I have discovered that Becky Rodgers is very passionate about everything she does. She is a wonderful teacher and friend and has served AMEA well. THANK YOU Becky!
We have a wonderful group of educators that make up our AMEAboard. Thank you for the work you do. The events that you produce in your divisions are the true strength of our organization. THANK YOU!
We are fortunate to have Garry Taylor as our Executive Director and Cindy Pass as our Treasurer. Both Cindy and Garry work hard to make sure AMEA runs smoothly. THANK YOU!
In closing, I want to say a special thank you to the mem- ber ship of the AMEA. As a parent of four boys who have been involved in music programs kindergarten through college, the impact that music has had on their lives is priceless. My boys are better men for having been involved in music. THANK YOU for teaching music!
