The Rage Monthly: Where did you grow up?
Nicolle: I grew up in San Pedro, right over the bridge from Long Beach. San Pedro is a small town where pretty much everyone knows everyone. I love the tight community feel and the fact that most of my family lives within blocks of me.
Rage: What brought you to Long Beach?
Nicolle: Before I “came out” San Pedro seemed kind of scary because it was so small and intertwined. To make life easier I came out to Long Beach and out of the closet!
Rage: How long have you been bartending at Ripples?
Nicolle: Gosh, I have been bartending at Ripples since I was a wee-tot, four-and-a-half years ago. Time flies when you’re having fun!
Rage: What nights of the week can we find you there?
Nicolle: You can find me at Ripples almost every day of the week. Thursday through Saturday and some Sundays is when I work, but on my off days I love going in to hang out.

THE RIPPLE EFFECT
LAUGHING, LEARNING AND SERVING AT CLUB RIPPLES
By jeff chandler
Rage: What are some of the popular weekly events going on?
Nicolle: There is something popular going on just about everyday at Ripples whether is Club Sin, a hip-hop night on Mondays, Thursdays there is Long Beach’s hottest female impersonation show called The Dreamgirls. Plus the weekends are off the hook with Friday’s Unzipped…our hottest lesbian nightclub or Saturday nights which rotate between La Playa, Bear Bar, Club One or Boulevard Nights!
Rage: Is there a specialty cocktail that you have come up with that people should know about next time they order from you?
Nicolle: Nicolle’s famous lemon drop: it’s tart, strong and a little sweet. It packs a twist a pucker and a punch!
Rage: During your free time, what are some of the things you enjoy most?
Nicolle: I recently decided on going back to school for a second degree, this time in nursing, so when I am not busy there I enjoy hanging out at my bar on any given day. It is always a good time with great company. I also enjoy playing on my softball team, The D-Listers, playing with my cat and cuddling with a soft blanket and a good movie!

Rage: Finally, for those who haven’t been to Ripples, what would you say they have been missing out on?
Nicolle: Pshhhh, life! There is singing, dancing, great drinks, good food, a fun staff and amazing company. Yeah, we are a gay bar but the fun extends to anyone who wants to have a great time in a cool place. I can’t imagine anyone not having the time of his/her life here. I know I do, both on and off the clock! Join me, you won’t regret it.
