With five diverse stages rocking our senses all weekend long, guests of this year’s festival are sure to find a few grooves that fit the mood. Here are just some performers we know you’ll really appreciate.

Saturday: May 15

SD DRAG KINGS CLUB (3:55 to 3:45 p.m.) – Winners of the 2002 Nicky Award for Best Entertainer/Group, the San Diego Kings Club has performed across Southern California. Now these kings of diverse diversion come to Long Beach to show their pride for the O.C. side. WHEN IN ROME (6:05 to 6:35 p.m.) – We loved them for ringing in the ‘90s with a fresh take on new wave. Now we love them for reminding us of “The Promise” we could never forget. DREAMGIRLS REVUE (6:50 to 7:20 p.m.) – Bringing us the greatest drag show from the best little wig shop in town, the Dreamgirls Revue bring their sparkling show to this year’s festival and prepare to delight the masses. AMANDA PEREZ (7:25 to 8:05 p.m.) – Her single, “I Pray” has hit, her album is on the edge of completion and she’s looking good and sounding even better. This Latina lovely has quite a start to a soulful evening planned for this year’s pride-goers. A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS (9:00 to 9:45 p.m.) – Ahead of their time in both music and hair sculpting, the boys in A Flock of Seagulls gave many successor bands in the ‘80s an irreplaceable platform for new wave sounds. Now they offer their signature sounds to us for Saturday night’s musical grand finale. You’ll not want to run “so far away” until they finish singing their “Space Age Love Songs.”

Sunday: May 16

GABE LOPEZ (4:45 to 5:05 p.m.) – Part activist…Part rock and R&B…All cutie. Gabe Lopez is ready to show you his stuff. He and his band are one of the fastest ris- ing musical acts in California—and they’re not afraid to show off why they’re so beloved. BILLY DORTCH (5:45 to 6:10 p.m.) – Who knew he was such a sweet guy, or a talented guitarist or a gifted vocal- ist? We did! If you didn’t catch his handsome mug on our cover a couple months back, visit our archives and read why this multi-talented sweetheart is so much more than the perfect outer package. Then let him charm you in person with his remarkable voice and enchanting smile. ALLISON IRAHETA (8:55 to 9:40 p.m.) – As fearless with breaking musical barriers as she is with hair dye, this 17-year-old American Idol alum has impressed more people with the power of her voice than Sam Kinison on his best day. As one of the final musical performances on Sunday, Allison will be sure to pack a punch in her song set, as she always does.
