A new event series is being kicked off this month by GLAAD and Absolut
Vodka called “TGIF” Thank GLAAD It’s Friday! The inaugural gathering will be held at Eleven Restaurant and Nightclub on May 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event series offers passes to the May 7 night as well as the follow- ing events in June and July for $35. This entitles guests to complimentary cocktails, one-year GLAAD memberships, along with special guest hosts and nightly prize drawings. An important aspect of “TGIF” is that the event provides the opportunity to network and socialize with like-minded professionals. VIP passes are also available for $50. “Spring on the Runway” Fashion Show
The Friends of Dorothy Guild benefiting AIDS Services Foundation OC
will hold its “Spring on the Runway” fashion show on Wednesday, May 12. The show is sure to be another runaway hit for this successful fundraising arm of ASF. This year’s show features men’s fashions from Brooks Brothers South Coast Plaza and the ladies will be impressed by designs from Mi Place of Newport Beach and Laguna. Expect the unexpected! This year the fashion runway meets the runway
at John Wayne Airport in a private warehouse donated by Kevin Coleman located at 3130 Airway Avenue in Costa Mesa. Fashion, food, Barefoot wine tasting, a silent auction, and the rocking sounds of DJ Mike Vaillancourt otherwise known as “Golden Mike.” The grand finale of this show is top- secret…so be sure to attend. 4th Street in Motion Festival
Go “gay” and go “green” as you learn about your carbon footprint and
discover alternative transportation, bicycle-related activities, workshops and special events during the 4th Street in Motion Festival on May 9 between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The festival takes place on 4th Street between Cherry and Junipero Avenues in Long Beach. There will also be live music at Pike Stage, the Long Beach “Retro Rollers” roller derby girls and plenty of food and drinks avail- able. As some of you may be saying, “Why! That’s Mother’s Day.” Special treats will be there for moms to enjoy as well. For additional information about this event, log on to

Out and About Tour
The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce [LAGLCC] pres-
ents their very first LGBT History Tour of Los Angeles in conjunction with Out and About Tours. The bus tour on May 15 takes you through the Hollywood area in an entertaining journey through the culturally rich and often hidden history in the city of L.A. Explore the city as never before as Out and About Tours explores the world of closeted stars, underground bars and landmarks in our battle for gay rights.
