INDULGENCES outrageous by jizzona straynger Shake, rattle, and roll! Whoa! April was a month for of rockin’ parties, earthquakes and so
much to be GLAAD about! April also marked the birth of my new Jizzy doll; it’s true, I have my very likeness in the form of plastic and glue—not a far stretch from the real me. Many of you have been seen around town with the mini-me! Jizzy, as she is now famously known, even made her way down the red carpet at the 21st Annual GLAAD Awards in Los Angeles! Jizzy got a kiss from Johnny Weir, the hot and sassy figure skater! Jizzy did run into one little snag at the GLAAD Awards, she was just about to get her photo taken with American Idol’s Adam Lambert, when “Mr. Publicist” came over and snatched Jizzy right out of Adam’s hand. All I can say is I will never wash that doll again! April was a great month for great entertainment both on the stage and off! As always, I
attended the Laguna Beach Art Walk! I tell ya, if you’ve never been before you should go! The art galleries have free wine! They should really rename the event Laguna Beach Wine Tasting with a Little Art on the Side! You can check out the Laguna Beach Art Walk the first Thursday of every month. On April 6, myself and 13 lucky winners from “The Ho Must Go On”- Hairspray Special Engagement, attended the opening night performance of Hairspray at the Orange County Performing Arts Center! I was in amazement with how those big gals could shake and shimmy and still are able to sing at the same time. I can barely lip-synch for my life without a puff off the ol’ oxygen tank. On April 20, I was joined by my sisters Sparkle Stone and Holly Day at the opening night performance of Chicago at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. Michelle Williams, from Destiny’s Child, was amazing in the role of Roxi Hart! However, it was the hot little boy buns twistin’ and a turnin’, haunchin’ and a poppin’ that I couldn’t keep my eyes off of. This show is packed with hotties who can belt it out while showing off their sexy bodies. Chicago, a must see, runs through May 9. Now that May is here, it’s time to move our thoughts towards some Pride action! Kicking off Southern California’s Pride season is Long Beach! Being somewhat centralized in Southern California, Long Beach Pride attracts visitors from all around. In fact, Long Beach Pride is the third largest in the nation now attracting over 80,000 participants over the two-day event! Mark your calendars for May 15 and 16 for the 27th Annual Long Beach Pride Celebration. Pride means so many different things for so many. For me, there is a sense
of protection within the walls of the Pride Festival, a sense of family. It’s as if we are at a huge family reunion, with a BBQ and all the fixin’s. Being a small town gal, I feel fortunate to now live in SoCal where I can freely express who I am as a girl, and to let you in on a little secret, my boy side as well. Although these Pride festivals are great fun, it’s important to not forget the struggles along the way. There have been many who have suffered extreme consequences
for standing up for who they were and what they believed in. It’s because of those pioneers that we have the freedom to openly celebrate who we are as the LGBT community. Let us not take for granted those sacrifices as we continue the fight for fairness and equality. For without knowing where we’ve come from,
it’s impossible to know where we’re going. Okay, enough of the sap...we all know I only have one heartstring and it’s just been strummed for the entire year! This month I’m launching my first ever contest!
