BEING ALIVE’S SPIRIT OF HOPE AWARDS

The Spirit of Hope Awards will be held at Skybar at the Mondrian Hotel in West

Hollywood on Tuesday, April 20. Each year, Being Alive recognizes those who have worked in the trenches and have used their time, money and talent to advance the fight against HIV/AIDS. The 2010 honorees are The Law Firm of Paul Hastings, Janofsky and Walker, LLP, U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Producer/Direc- tor/Writer/Activist Del Shores and Psychologist and HIV/Addiction specialist Dr. Neva Chauppette. The award ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. with a silent auction preview followed by a cocktail reception and silent auction at 7:00 p.m. with the awards and entertainment at 8:00 p.m. Entertainment is provided by Michael Patrick Coughlin with celebrity guests from the casts of GLEE and Modern Fam- ily. AN EVENING WITH WOMEN: CELEBRATING ART, MUSIC AND EQUALITY

The L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center along with Linda Perry, Kelly Lynch, Annie

Goto, Brent Bolthouse and Shannon Del invite all to a special night of en- tertainment at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on May 1. An Evening With Women: Celebrating Art, Music and Equality is hosted by Gina Gershon with special performances by Heart and Linda Perry. In addition, Renee Zellweger and Sarah Silverman will be making a special appearance. The evening kicks off with cocktails and silent auction at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and program of entertainment and awards at 8:00 p.m. Rooms at The Beverly Hilton will be offering a discounted rate for attendees of An Evening With Women. 15th Annual Bowling For Angels

Ready to strike it up for an excellent cause? On April 25, head to the Pick-

wick Gardens Bowling Center for this day-long series of Bowling For Angels. The first shift is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or you can be part of the second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration for this charity event is $50 and will support Project Angel Food in raising much-needed funding. Be a fundraising bowler, sponsor a bowler or just make a donation and spread the word about this sporty and fun way to serve the community and make new friends while bowling. Project Angel Food cooks and delivers 13,000 meals every week to people in L.A. County who are struggling with HIV and AIDS, cancer and other debilitating diseases.
