PRESS RELEASE ISSUED ON BEHALF OF CARELINE THEATRE

MAY DELIVERY.

C

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION RING BERNARD KING ON 96 646 23 85.

areline Theatre’s production of ‘Cash on Delivery’ by Michael Cooney has now been cast

and director, Jim Sissens is promising the delivery of a very large load of laughs at the Alcalali theatre on the nights of May 13, 14, and 15. Michael Cooney’s farce takes just five minutes to explain that Eric Swan (Dennis Arthurs) lost his job a couple of years back and, unknown to his wife, Linda (Margaret Cordery) has since kept his home a float by cheating the DSS. He has a number of fictitious tenants, all of whom suffer from various disabilities and special circumstances entitling them to a monthly support cheque. Things have got too deep for Eric and he wants out and plans to kill off his fictitious tenants. Explanation over, Cooney launches into two hours of almost relentless and hilarious madness. Madness that involves a live tenant, Norman (Chris Moore), an Uncle George (Carl Patterson) who adds some slapstick to the chaos, an undertaker named

Forbright (Bill Kent), a Dr Chapman (Tony Lawley), two DSS inspectors, Mr Jenkins (Robin Baxter) and his dragon of a boss, Ms Cowper (Linda Arthurs), a social worker named Sally,( Leigh Patterson), Norman’s fiancé, Brenda (Rachel Hughes) and possibly the world’s most temperamental washing machine. It is a madness that poses such leading questions as Who is who? What’s what? Who’s dead? Who’s alive? Why is that man wearing a maternity dress? Don’t worry about them; you are likely to be too busy laughing to even think about the answers. Tickets are priced at 12 euros with a 10% discount for pre-booked parties of ten and over. Advance reservations can be made by ringing the box office on

THE EMAUS SPRING FAIR

V

ariety is the spice of life! Over 200 visitors and stallholders came to the Inn on the Green for the Emaus Spring Fair - they found 25 stalls all offering diverse & exciting Easter

Gifts. For the first time in ages people seemed happy to spend their money - which was an excellent result for all.

The Inn on the Green staff were overworked all day long & a happy atmosphere pervaded the courtyard and dining room.

So worthwhile was the Fair that Stallholders have already started booking places for the November Fair!!!!!!!!!

The Friends of the Children of Emaus Committee were out in force & collected nearly 200 euros at the door for the Children .
