Trip hosts: AMResorts Purpose of trip: Wedding- specific educational How many on trip? Six, plus Lisa Everson from AMResorts How long was the trip? Six days, five nights
Getting there We flew economy with British Airways from Gatwick to Cancun. The flight time was about nine hours.
Trip itinerary The itinerary consisted of site inspections at 10 of the AMResorts properties in Mexico led by the resorts’ wedding coordinators, many of whom had gone out of their way to set up decorated wedding locations for us and hosted dinners in the style of wedding receptions.
Trip highlight? There were numerous highlights: seeing a wedding take place at Dreams Riviera Cancun, having dinner in the gazebos with sea views all around at Dreams Puerto Aventuras and Dreams Cancun. Oh, and we ate lots of wedding cake!
Top hotel? My top recommendation for a wedding would be Dreams Tulum. This hotel has something for every couple, and it offers numerous locations including a beautiful Mexican chapel.

Best night? We had dinner at Spice, the Asian restaurant at Now Jade Riviera Cancun. We sat at the Teppanyaki tables so as well as having amazing food, we had a bit of a culinary show from the chefs.
Tastiest meal? The hosted dinner at Secrets Capri. Martina, the wedding coordinator, had set up dinner on the beach in the style of a wedding reception, complete with an open bar, saxophonist and a bonfire. We ate five courses including seared tuna fillet and chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Funniest moment? During our visit to Dreams Puerto Aventuras, we had lunch in the wedding gazebo overlooking the sea. The mariachi band that played for us were brilliant, their dance moves were hilarious as well as their over enthusiastic posing when we were taking pictures. I would definitely recommend them for a wedding reception, the atmosphere was fantastic.
Best contact? It was great to meet with all of the wedding coordinators who I have been exchanging emails with for years. It’s nice to be able to put a face to the name and, having met them all in person, I know that all of our wedding clients will be in good hands once in resort.
Biggest surprise? I was surprised by the options that are available for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Although all part of the same

group, each of the resorts that we visited were so different and each offered a multitude of ways to ensure that each wedding is unique.
Outcome… Mexico has always been a popular wedding destination for us. After the trip I am now able to offer detailed and specific advice to wedding couples in order to ensure that the resort that they choose is perfect for them.
