Burlington Man Found Guilty of Stealing 100-plus Cattle

N MAY 6, A MILAM COUNTY JURY FOUND WILLIAM JAMES CRENAN, 59, BURLINGTON, GUILTY of theft of $100,000 to $200,000 from an elderly person after he stole more than


100 head of cattle from an El Paso rancher who was running cattle on Crenan’s pasture in northern Milam County. This case was investigated by Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association


(TSCRA) Special Rangers Marvin Wills and Hal Dumas in cooperation with the Milam County Sheriff’s Offi ce. According to local authorities, the theft occurred on or around May 14, 2013. The


weeklong jury trial was held in the 20th District Court in Cameron with Judge John Youngblood presiding. Crenan’s charge is a fi rst-degree felony, with a punishment range of 5 to 99 years confi nement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and a fi ne up to $10,000.
