Gilching, Germany — Electronic Assembly has added a line of Wi-Fi data loggers to its product portfolio. The temperature and humidity sen- sors are manufactured by Corintech, and can be used for continuous and uninterrupted monitoring in sensi- tive environments. The measure- ment range varies between –20°C (–4°F) to +60°C (+140°F) and –270°C (–454°F) to +1,300°C (+2,372°F) depending on the type of logger. Setting up the WiFi data loggers using USB is easy, and data can be

Heidenhain: Touch Probe for Machine Tools

Schaumburg, IL — Heidenhain, a manufacturer of precision measure- ment and control equipment, now offers its TS 740 touch probe, which employs a pressure sensor for accu- rate measurement. The unit has an accuracy of

±1µm, excellent repeatability and a probing velocity of 0.25m/min.

transferred over an existing network. 802.11(x) connectivity makes setting up communications on the network simple. The data logger has recharge- able lithium polymer batteries. It can store any key data internally for weeks

at a time, even if Wi-Fi is not available, and can operate up to a year. The display is clear and easy to

read, and continuously shows all rele- vant data. Depending on the configu- ration, an alarm can be raised on a PC

or forwarded by e-mail or through the cloud. The device can notify a user through the network as soon as any value drifts out of its defined limits. User-friendly software is avail-

able for data analysis. A graphic dis- play shows information for an entire monitoring period, which allows the user to make accurate assessments. Users also have the option of export- ing data to various spreadsheets for analysis away from the machine. Different levels of cloud connectivity

are available. Contact: Electronic Assembly

Touch probe with pressure sensors.

The probe’s trigger pulse is

obtained through force analysis, and the forces are processed electronical- ly. This method provides consistent probe accuracy over 360°. The deflec- tion of the stylus is measured by sev- eral pressure sensors arranged between the contact plate and probe housing. When probing a workpiece, the force of the stylus against the piece is measured, the signal is processed and a trigger signal is pro- duced. The relatively low probing forces provide high probe accuracy and repeatability, while offering pre- cise trigger characteristics in all

directions. Contact: Heidenhain
