Nordson EFD Launches Jetting Technology

East Providence, RI — Nordson EFD has introduced a series of pneumatic non-contact dispensing systems. The P-Jet and P-Dot valves and V100 controllers jet low-to-high-viscosity fluids. They are designed for use in many types of industries including automotive, electronics, aerospace, and medical. The P-Jet can dispense fluids at

frequencies of up to 280Hz with dis- pensable volume starting at 3nL. Both the P-Jet and P-Dot have exchange- able nozzles and dispensing tappets to quickly adapt to different situations. Both are easy to use and maintain, and keep the wetted parts separate from the actuators. They require a voltage of 24V and maximum fluid pressure of 87 psi (6 bar) to operate. In addition, the valves can be configured as part of a production line. Pneumatic non-contact dispens- ing technology has a variety of bene-

fits. Time is saved due to easier posi- tioning of the part, and a high dis- pensing frequency. Part damage and contamination is reduced as there is

no contact between the dispenser and the surface below it. The result- ing fluid deposits are independent of a part’s surface shape and structure,

and are uniform. Also, adjustment of dispensing volumes is easy and safe. The P-Jet dispenses low-to-medi-

um-viscosity fluids such as solvents, oils, greases, silicones, paints, and fluxes in beads and lines. Common applications include filling, potting, sealing, and coating. The P-Dot dis- penses high viscosity fluids such as adhesives and lacquers. Its applica- tion includes the attachment of small electronic components onto PCBs. The launch of the systems comes

with the company’s recent acquisition of Liquidyn, a Germany company found ed in 2006 that designs and man- ufactures non-contact micro dispens-

ing valves. Contact: Nordson EFD, 40

Cicoil: Flexible Power Cables for Aerospace

Valencia, CA — Cicoil, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance cable assemblies, has developed a line of single conductor power cables for mission-critical aerospace applica- tions including commercial and mili- tary airframes, avionics, missile guidance sys- tems, in-flight electronic communication equip- ment, drones and UAVs, space vehicles, satellites, and weapon firing sys- tems. The new halogen-

free, Flexx-sil™ rub ber jacket provides protec- tion against the effects of extreme environments, is flame retardant (per UL 94 V-O and FAA) and performs well in a tem- perature range of –65 to +260°C (–85 to +500°F). Manufactured with strong, oxy-

gen-free copper wire, the company’s design is flexible and unaffected by vibration, G-forces, other types of mechanical stress, and most chemi- cals. The cables’ encapsulation needs no external “armor” or conduit for protection, is “self-healing” from small punctures, and cable jacket damage can be repaired easily in the field.

Rated for voltages up to 42,000VDC, the cables are available

in continuous lengths, cut to order, or as assemblies, complete with lugs and connectors. In addition, the com- pany offers anti-friction coatings, custom colors, and lower or high volt- age designs by request.

Cables suited for many aerospace applications.

The cables are RoHS and

REACH compliant, manufactured in an automated, climate-controlled environment, and exceed the ASTM E-593 outgassing specifications for

use in a vacuum or in space. Contact: Cicoil, 24960 Avenue
