Cunard to upgrade QM2’s Britannia Balcony cabins

Cunard is to refurbish all Britannia Balcony staterooms onQueen Mary 2 by the end of 2016.
The line said the ship would be out of action for 25 days when it goes into drydock in Hamburg in May, with further work taking place during subsequent sailings. Initially, the refurbishment
will focus on revamping all the Britannia Club Balcony staterooms

on deck 12 and half of the Britannia Balcony cabins. Thirty Britannia Club Balcony staterooms will also be added. The announcement comes
after Cunard revealed it hoped to capitalise on the growing singles market by introducing 15 single Britannia cabins on the QM2. Marketing director Angus Struthers said: “The number of cruisers choosing to travel alone is increasing and we continue to focus on this expanding market. “Having already been
introduced on Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria, when our flagship re-enters service in June 2016, all three Cunard ships will
offer single cabins.”
