Mosaic aims to put itself back on radar of the trade

Mosaic Holidays is to “relaunch” itself to the trade after new general manager Steve Goodenough admitted it had “taken its eye off the ball”.

The luxury operator was sold

to Sakkara Group International a year ago and, for about 12 months prior to its acquisition, had no on-the-road sales presence. Goodenough, formerly sales and

marketing director of the Diamond Holiday Group, which includes The

River Cruise Line, said Mosaic was seeking to boosts its ties with the trade as it aimed to significantly increase its business. About half its sales come through agents – a proportion it hopes to maintain. Mosaic is seeking an on-the-

road agency sales manager, to replace a sales executive. Goodenough, who started this month, said: “The idea is to bang the drum a bit because we have not necessarily been knocking on agents’ doors. We must get back on the radar.

“We have not done much in the

past 12 months to stimulate the trade and get brochures racked.” The operator is planning fam

trips to Egypt for early next year. “Our prediction is Egypt will

see a marked improvement [in UK sales] next year and take off in 2017,” said Goodenough. Mosaic features Egypt,

Morocco, Jordan, Turkey, northern Cyprus, Israel and Jordan. It plans to expand in its core destinations and

broaden its range. mosaicholidays.co.uk
