Land Rovers that convert into two-storey ‘homes’ with hot running water are being offered by The Family Adventure Company on three of its safari holidays.

The new ‘comfort’ options are

available on itineraries in 2016 in Tanzania, north India and Vietnam. Product and brand manager Tim Winkworth said the move to offer a higher level of accommodation was to appeal to a broader customer base. “We have not had a comfort level

until now,” he said. “Before, accommodation was not seen as a big part of the trip.” The comfort options include

four nights in a Land Rover suite in the Saadani National Park as part of a 10-day Tanzania Family Safari. The Land Rovers convert into

two-storey homes, with elevated bedrooms, solar electricity, hot water and a bath, and can be put up and dismantled quickly. “It’s a level of accommodation and service you’d expect in a South African lodge,” added Winkworth,

Balkan Holidays touts cheaper prices for Bulgaria and Croatia

Balkan Holidays has reduced prices to Bulgaria and Croatia on selected trips by about £20 per booking for next summer. The reduction is a result of

‘Explore Beyond’ with operator’s new range of in-depth tours

Escorted tours operator Explore has introduced a collection of in-depth ‘Explore Beyond’ trips, including some ‘recce’ tours on which it will invite former customers to test an itinerary before it is finalised. The nine-strong range includes

wildlife adventure Wild Zambia, a North American National Parks and Eclipse tour, and a Family Harbin Winter Ice Festival in China, and is set to grow with two tours added each month from December. Managing director Ashley Toft said: “We have designed these trips to really push the boundaries, and to allow our more adventurous customers to get off the beaten track. In some cases, we will be asking our loyal customers to join us on ‘recce’ trips to get them involved right from the start.” The operator has also more

than doubled its cycling and walking programme, with new destinations including Belgium, the Netherlands and Mexico.
