by the restoration team, the Glenbrook was a fairly easy endeavor. Initially scheduled for completion in time for the museum’s annual Fourth of July steam- up in 2015, the project was speeded up a bit in order to unveil the locomotive co- incidently with the 140th anniversary of its original arrival in Carson City. May

23 was chosen as the unveiling date. Once the big day arrived, Glenbrook

did not disappoint. More than 500 peo- ple attended the ceremony, which saw Glenbrook under steam with two stan- dard gauge stablemates, Inyo and V&T 4-6-0 No. 25. For the immediate future, Glenbrook

is confined by a lack of narrow gauge track at the Carson City museum. Once that situation is remedied and the 2-6-0 can stretch its legs, regular operations will commence. Until then, Glenbrook will patiently wait, ready to go. After all, what’s another couple of years for a 141-year-old locomotive?
