$100 and a Dremel Rotary Tool Kit with a variable-speed Dremel 3000 rotary tool and accessories are awarded to the monthly winner of the RMC/Dremel Kitbashing Award. Models must


consist of at least 50 percent commercial components. Entries must include


at least two high- resoluti on photos (minimum 3,000 pixels wide) and a short descripti ve text of the model and its constructi on. All entries must

The fish delivery truck reflects a bit of my history, and the war memorial captures a much broader aspect of his- torical observance, one that res- onates across the country and, indeed, around the world. As a boy growing up in the


1950s in south coastal Maine, I vividly recall the weekly vis-


its to our suburban home by the local fish dealer. He pulled into the driveway, swung open the back doors of the box in the bed of his truck, and the odor of fresh fish overwhelmed us. Usu- ally, my mom bought a couple of portions of fish for chowder or finnan haddie. The fish was sold in wooden boxes of various


sizes, which the dealer weighed on the scales that hung from the interior of the truck’s rear. It was nearly inevitable that I try to recreate these vivid moments on my under-construction On30 layout. In those same childhood


years, I went on several fly fish- ing excursions with my dad. We
