The offering presents a repurposed 90-ton hopper body, laser-cut roof cover, wooden sup- ports and conveyor, multiple full-color sign options, corrugat- ed aluminum roofing, and cus- tom detail parts. The completed model measures approximately 3¼ inches wide by 2½ inches deep and 2½ inches tall. Avail- able from hobby dealers or direct from The N Scale Architect, this kit retails for $29.95.

N — For 2016, Broadway Limited Imports brings its N-scale Paragon 2 Alco PA-1 and PB-1 diesel models back with new paint schemes. The coming production will in- clude Cotton Belt (Daylight), Erie (black and yellow), General Electric Exhibition (“More Power to America” scheme), Mis- souri Pacific (Eagle blue and gray), Pennsyl- vania Railroad (five-stripe Tuscan Red), Rio Grande (as-delivered Aspen Gold and sil- ver), Santa Fe, Southern Pacific (Daylight), and Union Pacific. These N-scale Alco models will arrive in
sets with a powered A-unit and non-pow- ered B-unit (MSRP: $279.99) or as an in- dividual powered B-unit (MSRP: $229.99). This model will feature Paragon 2 sound and digital operating system compatible on DC or DCC layouts. The drive mechanism will receive power from all wheels, which will be equipped with traction tires for add- ed pulling strength.

Early 2016 for Atlas Shay
N — Atlas’ coming two-truck Shay steam locomotive, based on a 1920s prototype, will re- produce this interesting pro- totype found in operation pri- marily by lumber, mining, and other industrial roads. Six road names make up the announced Shay production: Arcata & Mad River, Manary Logging Com- pany, Panhandle Lumber Com- pany, Portland Railway Light & Power, Western Forest Indus- tries, and Yawkey Bissell Lum- ber Company. Undecorated and painted/unlettered Shay models
will arrive for custom projects. The Shay release carries a $199.95 suggested retail price. The model will include a die- cast frame and boiler with de- tailed operating drive shaft featuring all-wheel drive and all-wheel electrical pickup. The drive will be isolated from its frame to aid in conversion to Digital Command Control.
