Broadway Limited plans Paragon 3 SD45s
HO — An all-new Electro-Motive Divi- sion (EMD) SD45 diesel model is com- ing to Broadway Limited Imports new Paragon 3 line. Featuring a wireless delivery signal to your existing sub- woofer unit (when used with the man- ufacturer’s coming Rolling Thunder receiver), this new SD45 will be able to create rumbling prime mover sound effects. Priced at $329.99, the initial Paragon 3 SD45 release will include eight road names: Burlington North- ern, EMD Demonstrator, Norfolk & Western, Pennsylvania Railroad, Southern Railway, Southern Pacific, Santa Fe, and Union Pacific. Details will include high hoods on Norfolk & Western and Southern Railway SD45s. An unpainted SD45 model is includ- ed in the production for custom paint projects. A 2016 delivery is expected for this production model.

Walthers Proto GP7 returning with revisions
HO — Passenger-service GP7 models are coming late this year from Wal- thers. These new HO models in the company’s Proto line are to include a new improved hood contour, as well as new wire grab irons and lift rings. Road-specific detailing includes ac- curate fuel tanks, air horns, steam generator equipment details, and more.
Road names announced for this release include Baltimore & Ohio (1957 to mid-1960s blue, gray, and black scheme), Chicago & North Western (1950s to early-1960s yellow
HO — Next May, Athearn will release its Ready To Roll HO-scale SD40–2 with sound versions. Standard DC models will retail for $134.98, and the new sound-equipped SD40–2s will sell for $184.98. The fully as- sembled six-axle diesel model will feature many separately applied detail parts, including numerous road-specific details. The drive mechanism will be compatible with Athearn’s separate-sale Genesis motor retrofit kit for even better performance.
Road names and paint schemes coming for this new SD40–2 produc- tion include Burlington Northern
and green), New York Central (1950s dark gray Lightning Stripe scheme), Pennsylvania Railroad (Brunswick Green), and Santa Fe (1950s Zebra Stripe black and silver). Walthers will produce two road numbers per road name for these Proto GP7s. Stan- dard DC models retail for $199.98. DCC and Tsunami sound-equipped GP7s carry a $299.98 suggested re- tail price.
