USA opposite Alix Klineman, an AVCA All-American from Stanford, shares her favorites

Instagram — This is by far the app I use the most. Instagram is the most creative way to keep up with my friends. I’m really into photography. I literally have over 4,000 pictures on my phone. Photography was my focus at Stanford, and I always took pictures growing up. I grew up in Manhattan Beach, so I was pretty lucky. I could always just run down to the beach and there was a lot of stuff to shoot.

Snapchat — It’s kind of similar to Ins- tagram, but I feel like it’s just a little bit goofi er and more spontaneous because you send a video for 10 seconds and it’s gone. My close friends use it a ton. I love to look at it, especially when I’m overseas. To get a 10-second video from a friend doing some- thing stupid always puts a smile on my face.

Facebook — Personally, I don’t use it that much, but I look at it a lot and I get mes- sages through Facebook. There are some people who, maybe I don’t have their phone number, but if I want to contact them, that’s the way I would do it.

WhatsApp — When I’m overseas, this is a big one for me because that’s how I can text for free. That’s an easy way to text anybody, regardless of whether they have an iPhone or not.

DailyHoroscope — This is kind of a weird one, but I usually check my horoscope a lot. People make fun of me for that. Everyone says, “Why do you check your horoscope? Why do you care about that?” But I’m a Cap- ricorn, and I have to say that all Capricorn descriptions describe me perfectly.

Shazam — I like this one a lot because I’m always trying to fi nd new music. Especially in Europe, you get exposed to a lot of differ- ent songs that maybe you wouldn’t hear in the States, and Shazam records the clip and tells you the name of the song.
