gram and as a requirement to obtain USAS coach desig- nation. Next year when the Coach
Academy starts out publicly there will be two coach des- ignations: Adavanced Coach and High Performance Coach. To register for the Ad-
vanced Coach course, in- dividuals will have to have completed and have their NRA Level 2 certifi cation. To be eligible for participa- tion in the High Performance Coach course, individuals will have to have completed the USAS Coach Academy Advance Coach course. It is recognized the return
on our investment will not be immediate, but also that this program is necessary to provide USAS coaches with the capability to prepare our
athletes to be successful on the increasingly competitive world stage. We have recog- nized that we must develop coaches as much as we need to develop athletes. We are grateful to the
coaches that are assisting Mike in building the USA Shooting Advance Coach Program including:
Shotgun • Les Greevy (lead) • Mike Simpson • Hank Garvey • Jay Waldron • Craig Hancock
Rifl e • Richard Hawkins (lead) • Hap Rocketto • JP O’Connor • Ryan Tanoue • George Norton
Pistol • Richard Hawkins (lead) • Will Hart • Eric Pueppke • Steve Faught • Russ Doucette
There are others who
have volunteered to review content as it is completed. This is a project that will have many more involved at different levels and at dif- ferent times.
Certainly the
National coaches and as- sistants will be involved as well. We are deeply grateful to all for their time and ef- fort in making the commit- ment to produce the coach- ing program that will be key to keeping our athletes on the international awards po- dium.
