Not only will competitors slots on the
National Junior and Junior Olympic squads, this year’s NJOSC also serves as the second part of the selection process for the International Shooting Sports Federa- tion (ISSF) Shotgun World Championships in Lonato,
Italy in September. Results from NJOSC will also be combined with the Junior results from the USA Shoot- ing National Championships in June to determine Junior team members. Look for world-class
scores from this year’s crop of Junior as 12 Junior com- petitors made an Open Fi- nal at Nationals with four of them actually winning; including a clean sweep in the veteran-laden Men’s Double Trap discipline with Dale Royer (Jackson, Mon- tana) and Dustin McGowen
(Greenwood, Arkansas) each earning a victory. McGowen showcased his skills in Double Trap, but was even more distin- guished in Trap where he fi nished second overall and was the National
medals. Mountain earned a bronze in Junior Men’s Trap at National Championships. Last year’s NJOSC Wom-

Champion. Similarly, Junior World Champion Dania Vizzi (Odessa, Florida) is off to a good start to defend her World title when she scored a double-medal perfor- mance by dominating the ju- nior women’s skeet fi eld with a 20-point victory. Luis “Taz” Gloria (Tucson, Arizona) was the other junior to earn a fi - nals win at Nationals on his way to a third-place fi nish in the Junior Men’s Skeet cat- egory. Royer and Vizzi are
among 13 other Juniors who will also be fresh off return- ing from the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany June 25 – July 2. Last year’s double medal- ist in Men’s Trap and Double Trap Logan Mountain (Palm- dale,
California) will once
again compete, looking to defend his gold and silver

en’s Trap champion and the current Women’s National Champion Ashley Carroll (Solvang, California) has aged out of the Junior pro- gram, but look for Grace Haumbuchen (Maumelle, Arkansas), who won the Ju- nior Women’s Trap National title to be the heir apparent in that event. Another competitor to
watch is Junior Skeet Men’s National Champion Phillip Jungman (Caldwell, Texas). Jungman qualifi ed for both Open Finals at Nationals and fi nished fourth overall - one point out of the medals. Registration for this
