Winners of last year’s Travel Brit Awards look back on their victories as excitement builds for the 2015 event on Sunday
The best domestic travel agents in the country will be honoured this weekend at the Travel Brit Awards. The event, which will take place at Warner Leisure Hotels’ Littlecote House Hotel in Berkshire, is organised by a range of domestic suppliers, with fun training sessions followed by a gala dinner and awards. The organisers of this year’s
event are Bourne Leisure, Great Rail Journeys, Hoseasons, Shearings Holidays, SuperBreak, VisitEngland and newcomers Airways Holidays, Condor Ferries and VisitGuernsey.

2014 winner: Grimsby Travel Agency Grimsby Travel Agency won the Shearings Holidays outstanding agency award, and said the honour came as a ‘huge surprise’. Director Kieran O’Flinn said:
“For an independent local travel agency from Grimsby to win such an award was wonderful. “We are very proud of it and made the local newspaper and radio aware of our success as this was a national award for a local company. We have gained many new clients on the back of this success. We have seen an increase in domestic sales this year, and I feel this will continue to improve.”
TTNG shows marketing magic
The Travel Network Group was honoured last year for its efforts at marketing domestic holidays in association with VisitEngland.
The consortium won the award
for a direct-response campaign showcasing products from partnering domestic suppliers. The campaign included a
Holidays at Home programme on Worldchoice TV and extensive local marketing. Si Prentice, group marketing
director, said: “We were delighted to win this prestigious award, especially given it
involved our marketing efforts to the domestic market. “The UK-based holiday market is of significant importance to our 800-strong membership as many millions of Brits continue to want to holiday in the many beautiful places that the UK has to offer. “We took a multi-channel
approach to the campaign involving TV, e-marketing, online marketing, advertising in magazines and on the high street. Our members all fully engaged with the campaign and it was very successful.”
